Increase in Alexa Ranking of websites:

If you are a website owner or internet surfer, then you might be familiar about Alexa and have checked ranking of a website. If you have recently checked ranking of a website then you may have noticed a sharp increase or decrease in ranking of that site. Recently I was checking ranking of Reddit.com (a social media news website), I’ve noticed sharp increase in its rankings: There may be several reasons behind that. For example most of the websites rely on Google search. So if something happens with google or their page rankings in google search results the those websites might be affected. If visitors of a website comes from social networking sites then what will happen if e.g. facebook blocks its links? obviously potential visitors to that site and hence its alexa ranking will decrease. One potential reason in my opinion is the google’s search algorithm update. many many website are affected by these updates every time. while looking at seach visitors of the mentioned sites, we can conclude that this behaviour is due to google. This is not always the case as we can see that ilivid.com is severly affected and shows decrease in alexa rank: While having look at wordpress.org’s historical rankings we can confidently say that google is responsible. So if you want to increase your website’s alexa ranking, then you should make google friend 🙂 . Write good articles, dont copy content and have some patience. It will surely help you increase your website ranking.
